What is Sago?

Sago is an edible starch that comes from tropical palm trees. It is mainly grown in Southeast Asian countries, such as Indonesia and Malaysia.

When to give sago to babies:

Sago is one of the best foods for babies. You can provide sago to your baby when he or she is ready for solid food. When our baby reached the seventh month, we started feeding him sago porridge.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of sago for a 7-month-old baby. For 7+ month-old babies, you can provide 3 tablespoons of sago.
  • 2 cups of water.

How to make:

  • Wash and soak the sago overnight.
  • Drain the water.
  • Heat two cups of water in a cooking pot and bring to a boil.
  • Add the sago and cook for 10 minutes until they become translucent.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Cool the sago to room temperature and serve.
