There are wonderful beaches, seafood restaurants, aquariums and luxurious hotels, enough to delight you as a traveler. I am going to discuss the 5 things you can do with your children at Cox’s Bazar. Let’s go! Seafoods at Mermaid Beach Resort: Cox’s Bazar is famous for its seafood. When it comes to seafoods, Mermaid ranks on top. If you are a seafood lover, you must go there. Mermaid is a beach resort, which is located at Himchori. The place was 30 minutes away from our hotel and we reached there at 3 pm for lunch. You can find lots of delicious sea food items, such as grilled St. Martin Lobster, baked pomfret, grilled pomfret, baked red snapper, steamed red snapper, pua steak, tuna steak, vetki steak, fish n chips etc. Although the foods were delicious, they were too expensive. However, we ordered tuna steak for us and the price was 825+ per person. We also added some fried rice in our order. Total bill was 1100 bdt per person. What can I say about the taste? Yup, it’s just mouth-watering and worth the price. Radiant Fish World: It is the only fish aquarium at Cox’s Bazar. It is located at Jhawtola, 10 minutes away from Kolatoli beach. Its main attractions include baby sharks, coral fish, catfish, star fish, tuna, crabs, turtles, shrimps, stingray etc. The place also has a restaurant and a departmental store. Our baby was thrilled to see the wonderful creatures of the mysterious place. We let him experience the beauty of nature, and described to him about the fishes. Reservation manager of the hotel called us before the departure of our flight to ensure whether the flight starts at the right time. Hotel bus came to receive us at the correct time. We really appreciate the commitment and punctuality of Ocean Paradise hotel. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast, swimming pool and gym facilities. They also provide airport pick up and drop off service. When it comes to buffet breakfast, Ocean Paradise is one of the best at Cox’s Bazar. Time schedule of the breakfast was 7:30 am -10:30 am. You can enjoy a great variety of foods: luchi, parata, egg, motor dal, vegetables, chicken curry, beef curry, biriyani, bhuna khichuri, spaghetti, pickles, salads, fried potato, jam, butter, bread, muffin cakes, rice pudding, pineapple juice, flavor juice, oatmeal, tea and coffee etc. The Food was mouth-watering and we were very much satisfied. However, we were very hungry and ate full. Then we provided oatmeal and some fresh juice to our baby. He really enjoyed it. At noon, we called room service and asked whether they could provide baby food for lunch. They informed us that they could provide chicken and vegetable khichuri. They also said that they needed 40 minutes to deliver the service. However, we ordered them vegetable khichuri and received the food at the right time. Although the baby khichuri was delicious, it was quite expensive. They charged 300+ taka for it. I ordered plain rice, broiler chicken curry and vegetable dopeyaza for me and my husband. Price of the curry (5 pieces of chicken) was 450+ bdt . They charged 350+ for the vegetable dopeyaza. Total bill was 1300 bdt (including Vat and service charge). Having said this, we want to mention that foods of this hotel are very expensive. It has a separate swimming pool for kids. We introduced the pool to our toddler for the first time and let him experience it. He was very excited and enjoyed it much. But they have some restrictions and don’t allow adults to swim wearing their cotton clothes. You need to buy swimming jerseys from them, which costs 500 taka each. Size of their lobby is very big. It has a small café and you can have delicious desserts, fast foods and coffee over there. We tried out a chocolate tart and it was yummy. Family members can also enjoy playing indoor games in the lobby, such as table tennis. It took an hour to reach the place from our hotel. You can reserve a CNG for 5 hours paying about 1000 taka. The main attraction of the beach is coral stones, which are sharp and found in rainy seasons.
